It's not what you think...Delanah is sleeping at night, she's just not going to bed exactly when I'd like her too. Last night it took several rounds until she was down for the night...and we were exhausted! She slept for almost 8 hours last night, but I woke up this morning wishing for at least 2 more hours of sleep! I don't know what's worse...running off of only 5-6 hours of sleep at night and knowing that all energy is from adrenaline, or getting 7 hours of sleep at night and feeling exactly how tired you really are...
Last night's bath time was fun! She was splashing like crazy!!!! We typically fill her bathtub and put it in her nursery and she'll splash a little, but nothing too bad. Well, last night we were talking to the Oz g-parents while bathing Delanah and I was doing most of the bathing. Dave had to grab some beach towels to protect us and the floor as she was doing her best to splash all of the bathwater out of the tub! Before the towels came I was quite wet!!! Little stinker! She just loves water so much! I am looking forward to reaching that 6 month mark when we can start swimming lessons! I have a little over 2 months to figure out where to get some swimming diapers and to get me comfortable in a bathing suit again....that's a tall order!!!!
Dave is leaving town again tomorrow and is gone for 1/2 the week. I think Delanah, Bailey and I might head down tomorrow as Dave leaves for the airport. I was going to wait until Monday, but heck, 3 people trying to get Delanah to sleep is better than one! This way the g-parents get the chance to spend more time with her as well. :) Yes, some of you may have noticed that I did not include Piper in the list of travelers...she is nesting once again! She did lay en egg a little over a week ago, but man, does she get mean when she's nesting! She only likes to sit under the dresser in our room and when I come near she attacks! Last week I was sitting at my vanity getting ready to leave for the day and she came out from under the dresser and attacked my ankle! She got a pretty good grip in and left a nice bruise and markings...she was not my favorite creature that day! When she's nesting she screeches in her cage until she gets her way and is let out and then I am banned from my own room until Dave gets home to get her our of there. I am thinking of begging my neighbor to come and check on her while I'm gone. I feel bad though as I have been letting her dog out every afternoon during the week for bathroom runs and now I not only won't be home for that but I am asking her to do things for me as well. Oye!
