I did much better with this appointment than I thought I would! Delanah did awesome, as usual, but was quite tired and fussy...poor thing was hungry! She sucked down her oral vaccine like it was nothing! The nurses and ped were fast, yay!, as they wanted to let Delanah get comforted. She is doing great! 75th percentile for height, 50th percentile for weight, 50th percentile for head circumference! I mentioned that people like to comment that she is a big baby, my ped agreed that she couldn't understand why people make comments like that, and stated that Delanah was tall, but right on track with everything else.
Today Delanah got to try her first organic, non dairy, wheat free teething biscuit...and man did she make a mess! Who knew someone with no teeth could get teething cookie behind her ear! The 2nd cookie was tonight as we were making dinner and she managed to break a piece off and Dave and I had to fish it out. She was not impressed with that, but hey, we weren't really looking forward to trying out our infant choking skills either. Crises averted :)
She was one tired cookie! Tonight we started bed early again and she was down by about 7:45pm! I'm thinking we need to move bedtime up from 7:30 to 7:00pm. It sucks because that means Dave is not going to get a lot of time with her during the week, but she's sleeping so well!
Tonight I escaped to try on clothes for her Dedication on Saturday. Man I hate my post baby body! It is very easy to get depressed going into my favorite clothing store and have to try on sizes 3 and 4 sizes bigger than my pre-baby size. And finding tops that fit? Ha! I swear with my new baby bust my dimensions must make me square...unfortunately designers don't make clothes for square torsos. Sigh..... I think I have decided on cropped pants (size be damned) and I think I am narrowing it down to either a cardigan or something fabulous that I find on a whim that looks good on me...ha-ha-ha. Why can't you just rent outfits? I'd give it back in great condition, but now that I am down to the wire, I'd hate to get something that I won't get a lot of use out of later...so just let me rent it :) I think I could get a lot of use out of the cardigan...maybe I will just suck it up and get that. It's SO much easier to buy for Delanah!!! She and I took a drive to Kid to Kid, the most fabulous children's consignment shop, and got 3 new pairs of Baby Legs, 1 pair of Weeboks by Reebox, 1 pair of water shoes, 1 pair of sandals, a hair bow for the Dedication, new pajamas, and 2 outfits for the Oz trip...all for the price of about 2 regularly priced outfits! Okay, I so need to be done and go to bed.
