Delanah has a good old fashioned cold. Our time in the examination room was interesting :) She was awesome as we got weight and blood ox, she should have been, she had just had an hr+ nap in the ergo at home! Speaking of which...ever had a drool mark on your back before? Yeah, it's quite an interesting mark to have on a shirt :) Back to the doctors....as we were waiting I was entertaining her with toys while she was doing her best to try to touch everything that might possibly have germs on it. She hadn't pooped yet (which I am discovering is not unusual for her after sweet potatoes), but man was she letting out some major toots! I kept checking her diaper, thinking that she has pooped for sure, but all that did was get her a little irritated that I kept moving her.
Her ears checked out great, throat looked fine, she did cough her nasty little cough for me while the MD was in there (I was hoping for that as I was afraid they would think I was just a paranoid mom), but I guess it's just a cold! Keep doing what I'm doing and I was told that she was fighting it beautifully...yay sweet pea! Although she had the cough and projectile sneezes (I got sprayed several times yesterday...funnily enough it didn't bother me), she was in a pretty good mood :) We did another Ergo nap in the arvo and had another hr+ nap! She woke right before Dave got home and I didn't take her out until after he was in the house. She was so comfy! Apparently she will only fall asleep if I am doing something productive though...I tried just swaying back and forth while I was watching something on TV, b the little stinker fussed until I started sweeping the floor and then she was out! I got so many more things done yesterday than I normally dream of getting done! Sweet! She got some great sleep (she is a champion drooler as was shown by the evidence on the back of my shirt) which is exactly what she needs right now.
She got to try her first apple slice last night! Her gums did a great job shaving off some apple pieces and she had a great time :) Her new thing in the high chair...if what she is gnawing on has slipped onto her lap, or is out of reach on the tray, she will put the bib or her shirt in her mouth to eat it, or bend down to lick her tray! Hmmmm...hint, hint ya' think?! She ate her apple slice with Dave and I and then kept chewing on it as we ate dinner. If anything introducing new foods is going to get me to eat more fruit during the day!
