Gasping for breath...

...no, it's not what you're thinking, this one was funny :) When you blow air in Delanah's face she inhales quickly, a gasp if you will. We use this technique when she is crying so hard that she "forgets" to breathe, you parents know what I mean, but we've recently discovered that it happens when the wind is blowing as well. Today we decided to take Bay to the Cherry Creek Dog Park, a beautiful area but decidedly windy. As soon as we got out of the car and I was putting her in the Moby the wind really kicked up. So here was my fussy little miss...gasp, cry, gasp interrupting cry, etc, etc. I couldn't help but laugh.
I still have a maternity hoody I keep in the car for our dog park excursions...I wrap her in the Moby and can zip up the hoody around both of us. Yes, it looks funny, but it's functional! She was cute as a bug in her new sun hat, zipped into the hoody. I zipped it up high enough to protect her from the wind and stop the gasping, cute as it was, I knew it was bothering her. She ended up falling asleep and I was able to get a good walk in, Bay got to play and Delanah got in a nice nap.
Although the park was fun, I have been cleaning up the mess all afternoon/evening! Bay loves to play in the water and then roll in every dirt pile she can find! The dirt is slowly getting released all over my floor. Makes me really glad we have wood floors! This afternoon was spent with little naps and some fun Boppy time :) Dave got home to a happy baby and they got in some nice cuddle time and some good play time as well. Currently she is in her crib, quiet but not asleep, fingers crossed for another 8 hour night!
Another good day, tiring, but good :) Tomorrow we meet downtown for lunch and I am on the hunt for these cute headband hair bows for infants I keep seeing around. Hope I can find one in time for pics on Sunday!

  1. I know what you mean. Amy does that with the wind too. Glad it was a good day for you!
