So, seriously, time for teething already? I'm not ready for this!!!! Last night was the last night that Brendan and Jess were in town and Delanah had a great time, until it was heading towards bedtime. She was just a little faucet yesterday, I know I was covered in drool! I started checking her gums and I think I see a little white spot! Not a tooth coming through yet, but there was something there! I felt some swelling, so although I don't think the tooth is coming in tomorrow, I think we're on our way! She has been shoving things in her mouth like crazy lately, especially her "baterfly" (a teether that is supposed to be a butterfly but Dave thinks has a bat face, thus a "baterfly") :)
I went out last night and got a few more teething toys for her to munch on, and she is showing a tiny bit of interest in them, but her baterfly is by far the favorite! I was checking her gums again this morning, when she would let me, and I really think I see something there, and she LOVES it when we rub our fingers over her gums. She has been quite fussy this afternoon and has been taking only 10-15 minutes at a time to snooze. She is overtired tonight and is getting to be quite stubborn :) She refused to talk to Dave while playing on her mat gym and during her bath. :( I made up a bottle for him to give her for her "dinner" and now that she has polished that off, we're to start the bedtime routine.
To make things worse today, I am not feeling well. It started with a sore throat last night and today I feel exhausted and just off. Unfortunately with motherhood there are no days off...any mom can tell you that! Dave was kind enough to come home a few hours early to give me a break and time to nap :) So off to bed to nap...and the bird (whom I exiled into our room earlier that day to give me some peace) decided she was going to screech only when I was just about to nod off. Once she was again quiet (exiled into the closet this time), Delanah started crying downstairs...so much for a nap! I am now dragging myself from room to room and I seriously hope she goes down easier tonight because I need about 12 hours of sleep!
