So here I thought Delanah had slept almost 9 hours last night, I was so proud. Come to find out that I was so tired that I didn't notice that Dave didn't come to bed until 2:30am! Apparently after I last fed Delanah I begged off to sleep (I remember this part now) and miss Delanah decided that she wanted to hang out a bit longer. The Cricket game that Dave was hoping to watch (it was looking to be completely rained out when it was supposed to start earlier in the evening) was on so the two watched some Cricket while Mommy was upstairs blissfully sleeping :) Delanah was quite a happy camper when she woke this morning. She has a happy kicky dance she does after a good nights sleep. While I am changing her diaper and dressing her there are arms and legs just flying while she watches my face and grins at me when we make eye contact. What a way to start a morning...no hot beverage ever gave me that happiness.
We had so much fun today! This morning we read some books and she even amused herself long enough to allow me to shower and get ready in my own time...woo-hoo! That's always a real treat! After her lunch I put her in her swing where she proceeded to sleep until 2pm when I had to wake her up to eat. This afternoon consisted of some really great Bumbo time! This was the first time that she was able to sit in it without extra head support and not scream! I was even able to put her tray on and put her toys on there. I got the video camera out and got some nice squeals and talking :) I shared the video with Dave when he got home tonight. It's nice to let him share all the fun bits :)
Delanah also had another exciting milestone today...she mimicked me sticking my tongue out! I've done this before with her, but this was the first time that I was sure that she was mimicking me. I got quite excited and clapped and cheered and she was very proud of herself and grinned. When she gets very excited now she brings her balled up fists to her face...too cute! I have been finding fun things that make her smile and laugh...she loves eskimo kisses and kissy-face and when I try to "eat" her hands. I love that we can play together now, it makes the day just fly by!
She is upstairs with Dave protesting sleep at the moment. It's going to be a great day when bedtime isn't a 2+ hour long battle!
