Raspberries and hickeys

So my little Delanah is SO proud of her new skill of blowing raspberries! I was treated to them several times today, and this morning she woke up and greeted her Daddy this way. This evening when I was on the phone with Grandma Suarez, Delanah decided to share her skill over the phone :) Oh, she also shared one of her infamous backfires over the phone as well...my little tooter girl!
So last night, during one of her last feeds, Delanah was a bit fussy and was pulling off while nursing. Well, she missed the target at one point and gave Mommy a nice little hickey! Ooops!!! Dave and I had a good laugh at that one and after I guided Delanah back to her target, she stayed on better...I don't think she liked her little diversion!
Today was another good day. We were up at 7am, with Delanah having performed some nice crib acrobatics and turned 90 degrees :) It's nice to have her wake up happy and for Dave to have a few minutes with her before he has to head to work. We came downstairs and she ate and then played in the swing while I pumped (she seemed to find great amusement in this) and then fell asleep for almost 2 hours! She had begun fussing in her swing and I went to the kitchen for more water and figured I would have to rock her to sleep, when it got very quiet and I realised she had fallen asleep! Apparently she just wanted me out of the room :) I seized the opportunity and took a nap myself :) An hour later I was refreshed and still had time to shower and get ready for the day. I even had the chance to make a healthy lunch!
Delanah was just such a happy camper! I got some great pictures of she and Bailey today as well. We had some floor time and Bumbo time and Bay will sit or lay very close to us and lick Delanah's hand or face at every opportunity :) Delanah, just today, has started watching Bailey, quite fascinated with her. Their relationship is just so cute to watch. Bay is quite taken with her and Delanah is beginning to watch for Bailey during the day. The only exhausting part of today was that Delanah had a very short attention span and we had to change activities about every 10 minutes to keep her happy...talk about thinking on your feet!!!
She had a nice nap this afternoon as we were out grocery shopping and Dave had some nice conversations with her when he came home. :)
I was testing my culinary skills tonight! I found a great chicken and a green bean recipe and decided I was going to make my husband dinner. It turned out so well! All fresh ingredients and all very healthy. Dave gave Delanah a bottle while I was cooking and she was asleep in the swing while we had dinner, at the dinner table no less, together and were able to share our days activities :) This hasn't happened since Delanah was born!
Dave is putting her to bed right now, it might be another hour or two before she falls asleep, but having these peaceful nights have made for longer sleeping and happier days :) Tomorrow we are off to Colorado Springs for Delanah to see the G-parents again and to let Brendan and Jess get into the mountains at least once while they are visiting. They are going up Pike's peak and we are going to see if Delanah cares to share her raspberries :)

  1. I've neglected blogs while on vacation. It was fun to catch up. My little girl is blowing raspberries too. It sounds like you are adjusting to motherhood splendidly!
