Delanah is such a happy baby!!! Last night it took some different techniques, and it took some time, but she went down last night and had a great night of sleep! The night before it was all about cuddles, but last night it was all about her being in her crib and us hanging out near her and talking to her. It was such a peaceful way for her to fall asleep :) This morning I was greeted with another gummy smile and a happy baby :) It was earlier than usual, a little after 7am this morning, but she was happy to kick it in her crib while I showered and got ready for the day.
We had a little outing this morning and as long as she had her new toy from yesterday with her, she was just such a happy camper! We chose another toy for her during our outing as she seems to be quite interested in grabbing toys now to put in her mouth. I love it!!! Nap time was a struggle this afternoon, she fell asleep coming home this morning and had a good hour in, but no deal until about 4pm for another nap :) She is in the waking up process as i type this right now :) I have taken so many pics of her today with her toy...she fell asleep gripping it this morning and has a gentle hold on it right now....just too cute!
I am guaranteed a laugh and smile from her if I lift her up to fly and we have done that several times today. She is just much more interested in eye contact and interaction with me today and I love it. I have started reading a new book, "baby time" and it has opened my eyes already. It discusses how new moms have lists of things to do and how we tend to get down on ourselves if we don't finish that list, if our house isn't perfect, etc. But the top priority should always be our babies. That is our job right now, the important job. She is so right! I would much rather sit and read stories to Delanah than run around getting things that I don't really need or doing things that don't really need to be done. Dave and I worked hard this past weekend to organize the house, our room still needs some work, but the downstairs looks great. Having that base done has made it so much easier to keep it neat and tidy. I make sure to pick up the living room at night so it looks great in the morning and I am so much more calm as I start my day. I have a few minutes here and there during the day in which I can get little jobs done...and as all the major things are done, all I need are a few minutes to get the chores done....it's so much nicer! Now I can have people pop over without stressing out! YAY!!!!!! I feel like slowly but surely I am starting to figure out one more piece of the puzzle every week....I don't think my puzzle will ever be complete, and I am sure it will change with every passing year, but I like feeling like I have some sort of grip on things again :)
